Kimetsu no Yaiba, commonly known in English as Demon Slayer, is the most popular anime in 2019. Not only in anime, but manga has also become very in demand, even in sales, beating One Piece’s record.

The story follows Tanjiro Kamado, a young boy who becomes a demon slayer after demons slaughter his family, and his sister, Nezuko Kamado, who turns into a demon. He also embarks on a journey as a demon hunter to find clues on healing and restoring Nezuko to human.

In Kimetsu no Yaiba, Tanjirou traveled to restore his sister Nezuko into a human, then in Dororo, Hyakkimaru traveled to retrieve his limbs taken by the Devil. Both anime are set in the samurai era, but what makes Dororo a little different is that Dororo’s plot is much darker.

Dororo tells the story of a samurai leader willing to inflame his son’s body parts, Hyakkimaru, to the Demon God to dominate the battlefield. However, Hyakkimaru was saved by someone by equipping his body with prosthetic equipment. Hyakkimaru then decides to go on a journey to defeat the Devil and regain his limbs.

Feeling panicked, Edward transferred Al’s spirit into a suit of armor at the expense of his right hand and left foot.

Ao, no Exorcist tells the story of Okumura Rin and his twin sister, Okumura Yukio. Since childhood, the two of them were raised with Fujimoto, a pastor at a church. When he was 15, Rin was suddenly attacked by Satan’s followers, who tried to capture him and bring him back to Gehenna, the dimension where demons live. In the fight, it is finally revealed that Rin is the son of Satan (Demon King), and he also inherited the blue flames from his father.

During the fight, Rin, who cannot control the blue flames, loses control, and his adoptive father, Fujimoto, dies trying to thwart Satan’s attempts to bring Rin home. Katsugeki/Touken Ranbu is set in 1863 when the era of the samurai is coming to an end. Japan is divided into two camps; pro-shogunate and anti-shogunate. The world’s fate is threatened by “Historical Revisionists” who come from the future to change history. A sage named Saniwa and two sword warriors rush to Edo to protect history.

Like Kimetsu no Yaiba, Tokyo Ghoul explores the line between “humans” and “monsters” as the main character struggles to survive in a gruesome world. This anime also presents battle scenes with an excellent soundtrack to listen to.

Tokyo Ghoul tells of a student named Kaneki Ken who must experience an unexpected event where he meets a ghoul named Rize Kamishiro, the girl he has a crush on. Ghouls are creatures that look like humans but love to eat human flesh. Luckily, Kaneki survived the incident but was in a very critical condition and was taken to the hospital for surgery.

After successfully recovering, Kaneki felt different from before, when he felt hungry but nauseous. After finding out the cause, it turns out that Kaneki turned into a half-ghoul human. Therefore, he had to eat human flesh to survive and overcome hunger.

A strange phenomenon occurs in Tokyo where people suddenly get burned and turn into fire monsters called infernals. This creature was once a human who did not have peace in his life so he needed to be calmed by destroying the core in his heart.

Like Kimetsu no Yaiba, Owari no Seraph has a demon (vampire) theme. The MCs of both anime also have a lot in common where both struggle to turn someone they love back into a human.

Owari no Seraph itself is set in a world that is undergoing destruction. When humans are attacked by some virus that destroys adult humans and leaves only children under the age of thirteen at the same time, the vampire nation appears and claims that it has conquered the world and will become the new protector of mankind. But the “Protection” isn’t free. The remaining humans must pay for it by donating their blood to the vampires.

Focusing on Yuichiro and his friends planning to escape from the vampires. However, the plan does not go smoothly because his friends sacrifice themselves so he can leave. Later, Yuichiro was saved by members of the Moon Demon Company, a vampire extermination organization. Yuichiro decides to join the organization to destroy all vampires and take revenge against those who killed his family.

Allen Walker is very similar to Kamado Tanjirou. The two joined the demon hunter group; conversely, they both felt sorry for those who turned into demons.

Tells about Allen Walker, an exorcist member of the Black Order organization. He has a mission to defeat the Akuma created by the Earl of Millennium and the Noah Clan, who plan to rule the world.
