With the PlayStation 4 console dominating the gaming market, there is no shortage of great games. Whether you’re a fan of story-rich single-player adventures or fast-paced online shooters, we’ll look at some of the best PS4 games you can play now.
Coming up with a list of the best PS4 games is complicated, but that’s precisely what we set out to do today.
Below, we bring you a list of the best PS4 games. Several games ended up being left out, but we believe these deserve to be part of it.
Best PS4 Games to Play Right Now
1. Uncharted Nathan Drake Collection
Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection has the exclusives that made the PlayStation 3 turn the key and start to recover the lost space for the Xbox 360.
It is true that the original Uncharted has aged badly and that Uncharted 3 is not as good as 2, not least because this is the best of the franchise, but this collection certainly deserves its place in the best PS4 games.
2. Uncharted 4
Uncharted 4 is one of the best games in the franchise and certainly one of the year’s best releases. The game combines stunning visuals with intense action and a beautifully crafted story.
The game has everything you need to convince everyone in single-player, plus a fun multiplayer mode, despite not being that memorable. Still, Uncharted four is simply sensational. More than recommended as one of the best PS4 games.
3. God of War 2018
The God of War franchise was once synonymous with the PlayStation, but its final days on the PS3 showed that it urgently needed a new life, as it already showed signs of fatigue and overcoming in the hands of competitors.
Fortunately, God of War 2018 manages to reinvent and update the franchise, bringing an excellent father-son story and showing that Kratos is ready to remain one of PlayStation’s icons.
4. Dark Souls Remastered
Dark Souls is one of the best games of its generation, and the remaster fixes its performance issues. If you haven’t played Dark Souls for fear of difficulty, give it a try, you can’t imagine what a wonderful game you’re missing.
5. Dark Souls 3
Dark Souls 3 is the conclusion of the saga and a kind of direct continuation of the original Dark Souls. Much more accessible for beginners, the game directly references the first game and some of the most memorable bosses in history.
6. Bloodborne
Bloodborne may be the best PlayStation exclusive. Reversing the logic of the original Dark Souls and rewarding the player for aggression, Bloodborne has wonderful gameplay, incredible bosses, and one of the best environments the video game has ever seen. Bloodborne is unique and easily one of the best games of the PS4 generation.
7. The Last of Us Remastered
The Last of Us was the best exclusive of its generation, and even though its remaster was released just over a year after it arrived on PS3, it brings the game in 1080p and 60 frames per second, like the definitive version. of a game that showcased the pinnacle of the PS3’s graphical power.
Combining this with very satisfying gameplay and a wonderful story, we have a game that is practically a must for any PS4 owner.
8. The Last of Us 2
The Last of Us Part 2 is the perfect combination of a story full of depth and that will keep you thinking about it for a long time after the end of the game. This is combined with gameplay that has evolved over its predecessor and fixed most of the issues that made it not live up to the story. The result of this is a union that could be called “the best of cinema with the best of video games”, something that has already been tried in the past, as in Death Stranding, but which ended up not working so well.
Anyway, this is a special game that shows how Naughty Dog is a company with an enviable ability to create great narratives and stories. That will certainly enter with force for the candidacy of the generation’s best game. Like its predecessor, it could very well be called the best game of the generation, which would be no injustice to others or exaggeration with this one—highly recommended.
9. Grand Touring 7
After so long without a racing game to call its own, Gran Turismo 7 recaptures the franchise’s essence on PS2 and brings very satisfying gameplay, beautiful graphics, memorable races, and cars.
10. Spider-Man
Superhero games have always been either one of the best experiences the video game has presented or something boring, too simple, and monotonous, and luckily Spider-Man is the first.
The game may not be the best superhero game out there, as this is still Arkham City, but it tells a fantastic story and has such fun gameplay that you’ll probably want to go web-swinging around New York now and then.
11. Spider-Man Miles Morales
A direct sequel to Spider-Man, Miles Morales was one of the PS5’s sales gimmicks when it launched, but it also made its way to PS4.
The game brings news about Miles’ powers, Peter, and an entertaining story, where spider-man can finally take a vacation, and Miles has to take the scolding. Despite that, it’s short but still serves as a great appetizer for what Spider-Man 2 will bring.
12. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is a kind of salad where we take the mission and narrative structure of The Witcher, put it together with the combat of Dark Souls and the navigation of Assassin’s Creed 4, and put it all in the Assassin’s Creed universe revisiting ancient Greece in the middle of Peloponnesian War.
The result is a gigantic game with a story that isn’t all those things but with extremely fun gameplay and over 70 hours of campaign. Honestly, this is my favorite AC in the franchise.
13. The Witcher 3
The Witcher 3 is a great game. Absurdly big. And that should not be played hastily. Play, enjoy and marvel at this beautiful experience because the game is worth every minute invested in it, whether because of the story, or because of the combat, or because of the immense world and vast of activities that await you.
The game has some performance issues, but nothing really takes away from this beautiful work. Aside from the base game, The Witcher 3 still has two DLCs that you can practically count as new games, given their size and depth.
14. Yakuza
Yakuza is the opening chapter of the saga of Kiryu Kazuma and Goro Majima, and although many people see the franchise as a kind of Japanese GTA, it is much more than that. Combining a fun beat ’em up cob mate system with completely playful missions and extremely charismatic characters,
Yakuza 0 is one of those games that you don’t give anything until you start playing, and then end up getting completely addicted either to it or to its minigames. This is easily one of the best PS4 games; if you give it a go, you will probably fall in love with this wonderful franchise.
15. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2
Tony Hawk was one of the most fun games of the PS1 generation, and their remake manages not only to capture the soul of the games but to update them and make them even more fun, whether for those who lived at that time or for those who started playing the franchise even today. We are eagerly waiting for the remake of the other games in the series; when will they arrive?
16. Mortal Kombat 11
Mortal Kombat 11 is the best Mortal Kombat ever released to date. The game does an excellent job both in delivering first-rate punches and in the content part, with a great campaign (although it doesn’t surpass the game that restarted the franchise) and several ways to keep you busy, be it exchanging punches with the machine, or exchanging punches with friends or strangers on the internet. More than recommended.
17. Street Fighter V
Street Fighter V is a PS4-exclusive game on consoles. Despite not having the best of releases, Capcom managed to fix its main problems, adding tons of characters and things that were missing, like story modes not only from Street Fighter V but also from the classic games in the series with V’s characters and gameplay. Today, Street fighter V is the ultimate Street Fighter.
18. Control
Control is a beautiful adventure game that will please fans of Remedy’s previous games and anyone looking for a game that’s not too long and has an excellent story ahead. Although it has many qualities, the game has some moments of very unbalanced gameplay and some areas that you might be head over heels for until you find it, as happened to me.
19. Doom
Doom is the rebirth of one of the most iconic franchises in the video game world and one of the best shooters of all time. Combining violence, a mind-blowing soundtrack, and extremely fun gameplay, no one doesn’t play Doom and jump right into the world of Doomslayer.
20. Wolfenstein The New Order
Speaking of rebirths, Wolfenstein: The New Order is another game that deserves too much praise; Bethesda took a franchise that had nothing relevant for decades, rebooted it, and combined not only an adult story, where Nazism had won, and now you should lead the counterattack but also extremely fun and visceral gameplay.
21. Horizon Forbidden West
The second game in the Horizon franchise, Forbidden West, improves on everything that its predecessor didn’t deliver so well, in addition to inheriting all the positive characteristics of the first game in the series.
I didn’t include Zero Dawn in this list because they are very similar games; the recommendation is to play both, mainly because Forbidden West is very good. It is one of the best PS4 games that proves that even at the end of the console’s helpful life, it still delivers a lot of quality.
22. Rocket League
Rocket League was originally released on PlayStation 4 as a free game on PlayStation Plus, and it completely blew up by combining two things that didn’t quite seem to match each other: football and motor racing and putting it into an extremely fun game that is still very successful today wherever it went.
Released. If you haven’t played Rocket League yet, do yourself a favor and play this game.
23. Doom Eternal
Doom Eternal is the sequel that every Doom fan has been waiting for, a game that manages to be faster, more visceral, with an even more maddening soundtrack, which means it’s an undisputed spot on our list of the best PlayStation 4 games.
24. Titanfall 2
While Titanfall 2’s multiplayer never really took off, and it’s a lot of fun, Titanfall 2 has one of the best, if not the best, first-person shooter campaigns of the last 15 to 20 years. The game combines high-quality shooting, puzzle sessions, parkour, and a very satisfying story. Best of all, it’s almost always on sale so you can buy this great game for cheap.
25. Cuphead
Cuphead brings that old-school Disney cartoon vibe to a game that will push you to the limit with memorable bosses and levels. The game may seem cute at first, but it will certainly push you to the limit, and best of all, it can be played in 2 as in the glorious days of the Super Nintendo.
26. Final Fantasy VII Remake
Final Fantasy 7 Remake is one of the best remakes ever made in history. It’s true, a small part of the original game is available so far, and the game could have more optional quests and be less drag at times.
Still, it makes up for it a lot with expanded roles of characters you were unaware of in the original game, new and original areas, breathtaking original sequels, and an extremely fun combat system. It is one of the best PS4 RPG games.
27. Final Fantasy XV
Final Fantasy XV is a game that caused a lot of controversy at launch for looking unfinished, but the Royal Edition of the game fixed many of these problems and helped to highlight the game’s greatest strength: its core characters. Noctis, Prompto, Gladiolus, and Ignis are amazing together, and if you don’t get emotional about their journey, you’re dead inside.
28. A Pay Tale: Innocence
A Plague Tale: Innocence is a dark, thrilling, and fantastical adventure. The solid stealth gameplay offers little new, but the unique setting and how it affects the characters, the excellent dialogue, and the oppressive atmosphere more than correct this linearity, resulting in one of the best games of 2019.
29. Nier Automata
Nier Automata is an excellent action game with a story that will make your head explode, as finishing the game just once won’t make you reach the end of the plot. The more you play and think about Nier Automata, the more you like the game.
If you manage to beat the first 40 minutes of it, where it’s not possible to save, and if you die, you end up having to do it all over again, it shows one of the best games of its generation.
30. Monster Hunter World
Monster Hunter World is a daring game that tries to please both old and new players. Most surprising of all, Capcom nailed it this time. With improved controls, a fully functional online match system and a livelier map than ever before, Monster Hunter World is the franchise’s chance to shine as it should and become one of the most beloved series of all time.
31. Tetris Effect
Although PlayStation VR doesn’t have the best games in the world, and few of them take advantage of what the accessory provides.
Tetris Effect is an excellent game that takes one of the most iconic Tetris games of all time and tweaks the formula enough to get make attractive not only those who already liked the game in the past but also new audiences. If you have a PSVR, play Tetris Effect.
32. Resident Evil 2 Remake
Capcom has achieved what seemed impossible in Resident Evil 2 Remake: taking a virtually perfect game from its time and modernizing it, leaving it as much today as it was for those who played it at the time.
Reliving or playing through Leon and Claire’s story for the first time is amazing, and RPD is sure to terrify you with all the threats it has hidden away. Easily one of the best PS4 games.
33. Metal Gear Solid V
Metal Gear Solid V may seem rushed in its final act, but Hideo Kojima’s latest game has a great plot, excellent gameplay, and extremely charismatic characters.
Who knows what will happen to the franchise after the legendary designer leaves Konami, but it was worth it if this is its last chapter.
34. Ghost of Tsushima
Ghost of Tsushima is a sandbox that is fun to play. The game combines fun combat with varied missions and many secondary objectives that make you lose yourself in beautiful landscapes. It’s all about samurai culture, and you could spend all day doing just one more objective or mission.
A suggestion: play the game dubbed in Japanese, to get into the story and feel like a true wandering samurai.
35. Red Dead Redemption 2
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a game that will please all fans of the franchise and all fans of Rockstar. With a remarkable story and unforgettable characters, the game takes the player on an immersive journey to the American Wild West.
The delay in performing specific actions bothers at first, but the player gets used to it after a few hours. With over a hundred hours of content, the game is perfect for those who love exploring an open world and for those who want an incredible cinematic story.
36. GTA V
GTA V has been released more times than I can count, but it’s still a game with an extremely fun campaign, and it’s incredible what this game still delivers today. This is, of course, not to mention the online mode, which Rockstar continuously updates with content and is a separate game these days.
37. Persona 5 Royal
Atlus seems to have taken this heart-stealing story seriously and decided to steal the hearts of Persona 5 fans for good. Persona 5 Royal takes everything good about the original game and mixes it with an insane amount of improvements and new features, making the experience just perfect!
Even players who have finished the original game find plenty of reasons to review the story, discover new features in the battle system and general gameplay, and finally, know the ultimate end of this story.
Persona 5 Royal is a beautiful game that must be experienced.
38. God of War 3 Remastered
God of War 3 Remastered is the pinnacle of Kratos’ classic level, and if you like games where you can go around hitting everything that dares to appear on the screen without having to overthink, this game is made precisely for you, and that’s why it’s part of our list of best ps4 games.
39. Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition
Diablo 3 proved that the Blizzard franchise is even better in a controller compared to the mouse and keyboard. The Ultimate Evil Edition of Diablo 3 brings all the content released for the game in a beautiful package that will certainly please fans of the series.
40. Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is a unique experience of storytelling and immersion. It’s a shame the game is lacking in the gameplay department, as it drags on in many parts, especially in the beginning, which can end up making you give up on the game before it really “gets good,” but even when it “gets good”, it still fails in this balance between drawn-out puzzles and fun combat.
That’s precisely why I emphasize: the game is not for everyone, but if you manage to overcome its flaws, it brings an experience you will hardly forget.
41. Devil May Cry 5
Devil May Cry 5 brings the return of one of Capcom’s most beloved franchises in a big way. The game is basically everything fans have always asked for in a Devil May Cry comeback: the Dante of old, non-stop action, a story that respects the franchise’s mythology, stylish enemies and combos, and lots of fun. More than recommended as one of the best PS4 action games.
42. Destiny 2
Destiny 2 is the continuation of the best PS4 games and although it didn’t please everyone at launch, Bungie was reinventing the wheel, expanding the franchise, and bringing more and more content, and nowadays this game is one of those life suckers which could very well take an entire afternoon of you doing just one more mission if you’re not careful.
43. Elden Ring
Elden Ring is the conclusion of a trajectory that began with Dark Souls and Demon’s Souls; that is, it is a challenging game, with a beautiful combat system and with a scale so large and so rewarding that you will spend dozens of hours on top. His. The expectations for this game were immense, and honestly, From Software again shows why it is one of the best developers today. Elden Ring is easily one of the best games of 2022 and this decade.
44. Beat Saber
Beat Saber is another great example of how virtual reality can be employed in games. Extremely fun, the rhythmic game is one of those games where people are willing to buy a PSVR to access it.
45. Dragonball FighterZ
Dragonball FighterZ is the dream of everyone who played Mugen in the 2000s: a beautiful, extremely competent, and very fun 2d Dragon Ball fighting game that brings a story that could easily be a Dragon Ball Super arc. Easily one of the best fighting games on PS4.
46. Resident Evil 7
A friend of mine often says that Resident Evil 7 was not the game fans of the franchise wanted but the game the franchise needed. Changing the camera’s perspective and focusing again on horror and puzzle-solving, Resident Evil 7 was divided on launch, but it’s certainly a Resident Evil at heart and a game.
47 – What Remains of Edith Finch
What Remains of Edith Finch is a gothic fairy tale that is both whimsical and macabre. Using unique gameplay mechanics to reveal the unfortunate history of the Finch family tree, Giant Sparrow avoids the fall of the second year with an extraordinary effort that uses interactivity to put you inside the minds of its eclectic cast of characters.
48. Ax: Shadows Die Twice
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is proof, once again, that From Software manages to take the huge expectations of fans and deliver everything they expected and more. The game will push you to the limit, but it’s extremely rewarding and will bring you back to the days when you yelled “TOMA SON OF A *****” when you managed to get past some boss who decided you were going to die 25 times, including about three when he was missing a hit to kill him.
A game that everyone has to play for at least a few hours to say whether they like it or not, and by the time the game finally clicks, you won’t be able to think about anything else besides it until you reach the end game.
Of course, our list of the 48 best PS4 games probably left some out, but it’s such a quality that it’s impossible to please every taste.
