The anime adaptation by Ufotable, which debuted in 2019, quickly became a global phenomenon. This success led to the record-breaking 2020 film Infinity Train, which helped propel anime movies into the mainstream worldwide.
Since then, Demon Slayer has continued its momentum with:
- Season 2 (2021-2022): A re-edited version of Mugen Train and the introduction of the Entertainment District Arc.
- Season 3 (2023): Covering the Swordsmith Village Arc.
- Season 4 (2024): Adapting the Hashira Training Arc and setting up the final battle against Muzan Kibutsuji.
The Infinity Castle Arc is being adapted into a movie trilogy, with the first installment set to release in 2025.
Additionally, the fifth installment of the Demon Slayer stage play is set to premiere in Japan in April 2024, adding another layer of excitement for fans.
