Marvel Zombies is set to debut later this year, bringing back several MCU stars, including Elizabeth Olsen, who will reprise her role as a zombified Scarlet Witch. However, despite her significant role in the upcoming R-rated animated series, Olsen has admitted she doesn’t remember much about working on it.

Olsen’s Surprising Admission

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the 2025 Film Independent Spirit Awards, Olsen was asked about her return to the MCU in Marvel Zombies.

Rather than avoiding spoilers or dodging contract restrictions, she simply couldn’t recall much about her experience, stating:

“I feel like I did that a few years ago, but… (laughs). No, but I don’t remember any of these things. I don’t know when they release them because the animation takes a long time.”

When Did Olsen Record Her Lines?

Olsen’s comments suggest she recorded her lines years ago, which aligns with Marvel Zombies’ long development timeline.

  • The series is a direct spin-off of the What If…? episode “Zombies?!”, which premiered on September 8, 2021.
  • Marvel Zombies was officially announced on Disney+ Day (November 12, 2021), with an original release target of 2024.
  • By November 2023, Iman Vellani (Ms. Marvel) confirmed that the entire voice recording process had been completed, saying:

“We’ve done the whole thing. It was amazing. It was so much fun. And I love—there are a lot of cool characters in the ‘Marvel Zombies’ show.”

Given this timeline, it’s likely been at least a year, if not longer, since Olsen recorded her lines—explaining why she barely remembers the experience.

Fans will finally get to see Marvel Zombies unfold when it premieres on Disney+ in 2025.
