Zack Snyder’s new animated series, Twilight of the Gods, is set to premiere on Netflix in fall 2024. Known for his work on Rebel Moon, Batman v Superman, and 300, Snyder continues his collaboration with Netflix, delving into Norse mythology with this latest project. A brief nine-second preview has been released, offering a glimpse of the upcoming animation projects for the latter half of 2024.
The preview features the silhouette of two characters before a fallen colossus, with bonfires surrounded by battle shields burning in the background.
The teaser then shows the protagonist, Sigrid, declaring, “We fear no god,” as she raises her inscribed spear to face a fierce dragon. The final clip includes two characters on horseback, armed with a large sword, and a third character on foot.
In addition to the preview, Netflix has shared seven new images on Tudum, its online magazine. These photos highlight several characters from Snyder’s series within a world rich with Norse mythology.

The plot of Twilight of the Gods is as follows:
“In a mythical world of great battles, feats, and despair, Leif (Stuart Martin), a mortal king, is saved on the battlefield by Sigrid (Sylvia Hoeks), a determined warrior with whom he falls in love. On their wedding night, Sigrid and Leif survive Thor’s wrath (Pilou Asbæk), setting them and a group of crusaders on a revenge mission against all odds.
This heroic story of love, loss, and revenge takes them through fantastical lands, fierce battlefields, and wars against deities and demons.”
In a December 2023 interview with Collider, Snyder described *Twilight of the Gods* as a revenge story spanning eight episodes, featuring “a lot of sex… because it’s fun.” This series marks Snyder’s first venture into animation and his debut as a showrunner for a TV series. He also serves as the executive producer for the series.
The leading voice cast includes Sylvia Hoeks as Sigrid, Stuart Martin as Leif, Pilou Asbæk as Thor, John Noble as Odin, and Joseph Paterson as Loki. The cast also features Rahul Kohli as Egill, Jamie Clayton as La Seid-Kona, Kristopher Hivju as Andvari, Peter Stormare as Ulfr, Jamie Chung as Hel, Lauren Cohan as Inge, and Corey Stoll as Hrafnkel.
