Goblin Slayer Season 2 Release Date, Cast and Everything Else We Know

Goblin Slayer is an exception anime that buzzed when it first premiered. Starting as a light novel series in 2016, Goblin Slayer later received manga and anime adaptations, earning praise from anime enthusiasts. What set it apart was its unconventional main character, whose sole mission is to exterminate goblins.

In 2020, the anime was followed by a movie adaptation titled Goblin Slayer: Goblin’s Crown. While it didn’t match the first season, it still offered its fair share of exciting moments. Now, fans are eagerly anticipating the second season of Goblin Slayer.

Here’s what we know about Goblin Slayer season 2: the storyline, cast, trailer, and more.

Goblin Slayer Season 2 Plot

As mentioned earlier, Goblin Slayer was originally based on light novels. The first season covered the source material’s first two volumes and included a chapter from Volume 4’s short stories. Instead of delving into Volumes 3 and 4, the Goblin Slayer: Goblin’s Crown movie adapted Volume 5. So, for the second season of Goblin Slayer, it could take two possible routes.

One option is to adapt Volumes 3 and 4 before moving on to Volume 6. The other possibility is that the second season could jump right into Volume 6 and continue the story from there.

If the latter option is chosen, here’s what you can expect in Volumes 6-10: The story follows Goblin Slayer and his newly formed party as they team up with a young wizard to deal with a goblin nest in an old mausoleum. Their adventures won’t stop there, as they’ll also be tasked with escorting the Sword Maiden to the capital and confronting these nasty goblins while Goblin Slayer is away.

If the anime adapts the third and fourth volumes of the light novels, it could lead to some overlap with side stories. The fourth volume is filled with fun side stories that might work better as spin-off episodes rather than part of the main story. So, it’s more likely that the anime will continue where it left off.

A promotional video was released a couple of months ago, but it mainly showed scenes of Goblin Slayer taking on goblins and how his party helps him in his mission. This suggests the second season will pick up from where the story left off and continue the main plot.
