Golden Kamuy could be the next anime and manga franchise to get a live-action adaptation. Satoru Noda’s series should get a feature.

The story takes place in the mountainous northern Hokkaido region. The protagonist, Sugimoto, who is a soldier and survived the Russo-Japanese War, needs a lot of money.
Dreaming of making a fortune overnight during the Hokkaido Gold Rush, Sugimoto finds a map of tattoos on the backs of Abashiri Prison escapees. This map leads to an Ainu girl with a pure heart who he befriends.
