Story Overview

Set in a world where individuals receive divine blessings from animal gods at 16, the story follows Sophia Lila, a timid countess who unexpectedly gains the blessing of the Gorilla God—revered as the strongest in combat.

The anime is adapted from the manga Gorilla no Kami Kara Kago sareta Reijo wa Oritsu Kishidan de Kawaigarareru (The Young Lady Blessed by the Gorilla God Is Adored by the Royal Knights), written by Shirohi. The manga has been serialized since August 2021 and has six volumes, with Kadokawa publishing it under the FLOS COMIC label.

The anime adaptation was first announced on September 24, a date recognized as World Gorilla Day, adding a fun connection to the series’ unique premise.

With its intriguing fantasy setting and fresh take on divine blessings, Gorilla no Kami is shaping up to be one of the standout anime of the Spring 2025 season!
