While Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders aren’t available yet, that could change in the coming months. According to Rockstar Games, the highly anticipated title is set to launch this fall—sometime between September and November—putting its release roughly six to eight months away.
Looking at similar AAA releases, we can understand when pre-orders might begin. For example, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach opened pre-orders on March 17, three months before its June 26 release. If Rockstar follows a similar pattern, GTA VI pre-orders could go live early in June.
Whenever they do open, analysts are predicting record-breaking numbers. According to market research from DFC Intelligence, pre-orders are expected to generate over $1 billion in revenue. This estimate is based on the fact that more than 100 million PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles are in circulation, alongside over 1.2 million GTA fans actively theorizing about the game on platforms like Reddit and Twitter.
DFC’s projection suggests that GTA VI could sell between 10 to 15 million units on day one, priced between $70 and $150—likely with a collector’s edition at the higher end. For context, GTA V made $1 billion in just three days back in 2013, and gaming has only grown in popularity since then, with higher retail prices for modern titles.
With expectations running sky-high, seeing how close these predictions come to reality will be fascinating. Fans eagerly await the second trailer—though Rockstar has yet to drop hints on when that might arrive.
