With Grand Theft Auto VI being one of the most highly anticipated games in history, many players are eagerly awaiting its release. However, if you’re a PC gamer, you might have to wait even longer than the expected Fall 2025 launch for consoles.

Rockstar Games has been extremely secretive about GTA VI, revealing only a handful of official details. We know the game will feature a Bonnie and Clyde-inspired story with protagonists Jason and Lucia, and it will take players back to the neon-lit streets of Vice City. But beyond that, Rockstar has remained tight-lipped, only confirming the Fall 2025 release window—which, as it turns out, may only apply to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

When Will GTA VI be released on PC?

Historically, PC versions of Grand Theft Auto games have been delayed. GTA V launched on consoles in September 2013, while the PC version arrived a full 19 months later in April 2015. However, Rockstar reportedly planned for a simultaneous release but faced unexpected delays.

Now, according to Ronald van Veen, Corsair Gaming’s VP of Finance and IR, GTA VI’s PC release is planned for early 2026. Speaking during the company’s Q4 earnings call, he said:

“…GTA 6 is probably the one everyone is talking about. And we’ll get a glimpse of that later this year for consoles. My understanding now is it’s going to come out in the fall for console, and then early ’26 for PC.”

This statement was further supported by Corsair CEO Andy Paul, who agreed that GTA VI was still “likely a year away” for PC players.

Is This Official?

For now, Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have not confirmed any PC release date, so it’s best to take this information with a grain of salt. However, given Rockstar’s history with staggered releases, a 2026 PC launch seems very likely.

While console players might get their hands on GTA VI first, PC gamers may have to wait a little longer—but if Rockstar’s past releases are any indication, it will likely be worth the wait.
