WandaVision was the first series with which Marvel Studios expanded its universe to the small screen. Viewers fell in love with the haunting series starring the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) who, according to one theory, may have anticipated the arrival of a new team of Avengers in Phase 6 of the MCU.
After defeating Thanos in Endgame, Kevin Feige’s studio plans to bring back Earth’s Mightiest Heroes with Avengers 5 and 6, set to release in theaters on April 30, 2026, and May 7, 2027, respectively.
However, a theory covered by ScreenRant suggests that Marvel Studios was already planning to introduce another legendary team of heroes before the Multiverse Saga concludes. This is based on the presence of FBI agent Jimmy Woo (Randall Park), who, after debuting in the first Ant-Man film, had a more significant role in the WandaVision plot and appeared again in Quantumania.
The hypothesis maintains that, as in the Marvel comics, Woo could assemble his own team, the Agents of Atlas, during MCU Phase 6. Three of these powerful heroes, created by writer Jeff Parker and artist Leonard Kirk in 1978 for What If #9, have already appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Namora, Namor’s cousin (Tenoch Huerta), played by Mabel Cadena in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever; Shang-Chi, portrayed by Simu Liu in The Legend of the Ten Rings; and Katy, played by Awkwafina in the film directed by Destin Daniel Cretton.
In fact, another possible addition to this team of Asian heroes could be Wong (Benedict Wong). The final scene of the film saw the current Marvel Sorcerer Supreme strengthening ties with Katy and Shang-Chi in a karaoke session after their mystical adventure in Ta-Lo.
At this point, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them among the ranks of the Agents of Atlas led by Woo. However, the fact that many other characters, such as Silk, who possesses powers similar to Spider-Man, Amadeus Cho, Marvel Boy, Gorilla-Man, or the Hawaiian goddess Pele, have not yet been introduced suggests that there’s still a long way to go before seeing them in action.
