Jurassic World 4 is set to hit theaters on July 2, 2025. Filming began mid-June this year, with the Thailand shoots completed and filming in Malta about to start. Excitingly, the film starring Scarlett Johansson now has an official title.
According to Hollywood insider Daniel Ritchman, the fourth installment of the Jurassic World franchise, directed by Gareth Edwards (known for Godzilla, Star Wars: Rogue One, The Creator), will be titled Jurassic World: Rebirth. Universal has reportedly registered the trademark for this new film under this name, and an official announcement is expected soon.

Jurassic World 4 has been described as “an all-new vision that launches a new Jurassic era, following three adults and three teenagers who become stranded on the island.”
The film is directed by Edwards and written by David Koepp, the screenwriter of the first two Jurassic Park films. Alongside Johansson, the cast includes Rupert Friend, Jonathan Bailey, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Mahershala Ali, Luna Blaise, and David Iacono.
Based on Michael Crichton’s novel, the franchise began in 1993 with Jurassic Park, directed by Steven Spielberg. Spielberg returned to direct The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), and the first trilogy, directed by Joe Johnston, concluded in 2001 with Jurassic Park III.
Universal revived the series in 2015 with Jurassic World, directed by Colin Trevorrow. Jurassic World followed this: Fallen Kingdom (2018) by J.A. Bayona and Jurassic World: Dominion (2022), again directed by Trevorrow. The series is iconic and one of the highest-grossing franchises in history, having grossed over $6 billion at the box office with its six films.
