Thor and Loki’s relationship has always been complicated, filled with betrayal, redemption, and chaos. However, fans haven’t seen the Asgardian brothers share the screen since Avengers: Endgame in 2019. That’s about to change—Marvel Studios has officially confirmed that Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston will reunite in an MCU Phase 6 film!

During the big cast reveal for Avengers: Doomsday, Hemsworth and Hiddleston were announced as part of the highly anticipated 2026 ensemble film. They’ll be joining a mix of MCU veterans like Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, along with legendary Marvel actors Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, making this one of the most exciting lineups in the franchise’s history.

After years of speculation about whether Thor and Loki would ever reunite, fans can now look forward to seeing them back in action—likely bringing their signature mix of brotherly conflict and heartfelt moments to the next chapter of the MCU.

This upcoming film will mark the first time Thor and Loki reunite on screen since Avengers: Endgame—a long-awaited moment for MCU fans.

Audiences recently got a small taste of what their dynamic might look like again in Deadpool & Wolverine. A sneak peek from the film showed Chris Hemsworth and Ryan Reynolds recreating an iconic moment from Thor: The Dark World, with Reynolds’ Deadpool hilariously stepping in for Loki.

Interestingly, Hemsworth and Hiddleston almost reunited earlier in Loki Season 1. A deleted scene revealed that Hemsworth was set to voice Throg, the Asgardian frog version of Thor, rather than playing the God of Thunder himself. While that moment never made it to the final cut, fans can now look forward to seeing the real Thor and Loki back together in the MCU’s Phase 6.

Catching Up With Thor and Loki Before Doomsday

When Avengers: Doomsday finally brings Thor and Loki back together, nearly a decade will have passed since their last meaningful interaction. A lot has changed for both brothers since then, setting the stage for what could be one of the MCU’s most emotional reunions.

For starters, Loki fans have been following Avengers since Avengers: Endgame isn’t even the same one Thor last saw. This Loki is a Variant who escaped with the Tesseract during the Time Heist and was later taken in by the Time Variance Authority (TVA). Over time, he abandoned his mischievous ways and, by the end of Loki Season 2, had fully embraced his new role as the God of Stories, protecting the multiverse.

Thor, meanwhile, has been on his own journey. Since losing Loki, he witnessed Thanos wipe out half the universe, took part in the Mad Titan’s defeat, and saw his former love, Jane Foster, wield Mjolnir before tragically passing away. More recently, he took on a protégé, Love, played by India Rose Hemsworth in Thor: Love and Thunder.

The last time Thor saw his brother, Loki was dying at the hands of Thanos. That alone makes their upcoming reunion deeply emotional—but when you add in everything they’ve been through separately, it becomes one of the most anticipated moments in the MCU.

With Avengers: Doomsday just over a year away, fans won’t have to wait too long to see how it all unfolds.
