With the help of Kenji Kamiyama (Assumedly directed Ghost in the Shell), Ultraman is an adaptation of work by Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi.
Several years have passed since Ultraman, the legendary Light Giant is now a memory as he is believed to have returned home after fighting aliens that invaded Earth.
His son Shinjiro has been revealed as the new Ultraman to fight the aliens that have recently invaded Earth. His father, Hayata, is also Ultraman and this is what motivated Shinjiro to take up the responsibility.
