The series stars Hayley Atwell (known for her role as Agent Carter in the MCU) as the voice of Lara Croft.
Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft Trailer
Developed in collaboration with Crystal Dynamics and Powerhouse Animation, the upcoming animated series, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, continues directly after the events of the recent game trilogy—Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
The storyline follows Lara as she distances herself from her friends and sets out on solo missions. Her goal is to recover a Chinese artifact that was stolen from her mansion. Along the way, Lara uncovers personal secrets and faces challenges in long-forgotten tombs, forcing her to reflect on the type of heroine she wants to become.
In addition to Hayley Atwell as Lara Croft, the voice cast includes Allen Maldonado as Zip, and Earl Baylon, reprising his role as Jonah from the games. The series was adapted for television by Tasha Huo, known for her work on The Witcher: Origins, with Joey Soloway (from Transparent) directing.
This animated series adds to the extensive list of Tomb Raider adaptations, including the live-action films starring Alicia Vikander and Angelina Jolie. It aims to expand the franchise’s universe, connecting the game’s narrative with the mythology explored in earlier movie adaptations.
