One Piece Anime Gets a Complete Remake: From Luffy’s Humble Beginnings to the New World!

Exciting news for ‘One Piece’ fans! Based on Eiichiro Oda’s manga, the beloved anime series is getting a remake animated by Wit Studio, and it’s set to stream on Netflix. The remake will start with the East Blue Saga, the manga’s initial arc, as revealed during Jump Festa 2024.

Jump Festa treated fans to an announcement video and a teaser visual, sparking anticipation. However, the release date remains a bit distant, as the production committee stresses that it’s a long-term project needing additional time for completion. The ‘ALL ONE PIECE’ team is dedicated to bringing this remake to existing fans worldwide and future generations.

Wit Studio, renowned for animating Attack on Titan, Ranking of Kings, Spy x Family, and Great Pretender, is at the helm of this project. Details about the cast and staff are yet to be disclosed.

Eiichiro Oda’s original ‘One Piece’ manga, serialized since July 1997, spans 107 volumes as of November 2023. Toei Animation initially adapted it into an anime series in 1999, with over 1000 episodes and various films.

Those unfamiliar with ‘One Piece’ can catch it on Crunchyroll. The series follows Monkey D. Luffy’s journey to become the king of all pirates as he navigates the perilous Grand Line in pursuit of the Legendary One Piece treasure.
