Netflix has officially given the green light for producing the second season of One Piece live-action. In a recent video, Eiichiro Oda expressed his gratitude to the fans for their support and confirmed that they are preparing for the second season.
Fans thrilled by the first season eagerly await news about the second season. This upcoming season will bring to life the long Alabasta Saga, also known as the Baroque Works Saga.
However, it’s essential to know that Oda has mentioned that getting ready for the next season will take some time. Therefore, there isn’t an official release date for One Piece live-action season 2 yet. But, looking at how things went with the previous season, we can make some educated guesses about what to expect.
This article contains spoilers.
When will One Piece live-action season 2 be released?
The first season of One Piece’s live-action adaptation faced delays due to COVID restrictions, but season 2 is expected to be produced more quickly. The first season was a passion project for everyone involved, including Oda, and it was made with a lot of care, leading to some reshoots.

These reshoots, although causing delays, resulted in an excellent final product. It proved that live-action adaptations can succeed. So, the next season will also take some time to complete.
Production for One Piece live-action season 2 is on hold due to the SAG-AFTRA strike in Hollywood. Even without the strike, finishing the series would take a while because of the extensive VFX work needed for a good final product.
So, if One Piece live-action season 2 is released in 2024, it’ll likely be in the year’s second half. Otherwise, fans might have to wait until 2025 for its release.
Where to stream the One Piece Live Action?
One Piece live-action season 1 had eight episodes and was on Netflix. So, it’s likely that the next season will also be on Netflix. However, there might be more episodes because the next season will cover the long Alabasta Saga.
What to expect from One Piece Live Action Season 2?
In the first season of One Piece live-action, we saw Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Emily Rudd as Nami, Mackenyu as Zoro, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. In the upcoming season, we’ll meet two new characters, Tony Tony Chopper and Nico Robin, who will join the Straw Hat crew. We don’t know the actors playing these roles yet.
