Overlord is an isekai anime that tells the story of Ainz Ooal Gown, a powerful villain with god-level powers. The series follows Ainz’s adventures as he finds himself trapped in a virtual game he has played for years, where he becomes one of the strongest characters.
As he accepts his strange situation as reality, Ainz embraces his role as a character of darkness and sets out to create chaos in the fantasy world he now finds himself. The show offers a unique storyline and explores Ainz’s character development as he navigates this new world and faces various challenges.
With stunning animation and intense action scenes, Overlord is an exciting watch for fans of the isekai genre.
One of the best things about this anime is its well-developed characters. Despite being able to have anything he desires after becoming the ruler, Momonga does not succumb to typical criminal behavior, such as creating a harem for himself. Instead, he acts accordingly and forms meaningful relationships with his followers.
The supporting characters in the anime are also outstanding, providing the audience with memorable moments and tons of humor. Studio Madhouse, the production studio behind Overlord, showcases its ability to create exceptional anime with excellent world-building and skillfully choreographed battles.
So, here’s the Watch order of Overlord following the lord of darkness, Momonga:

The story takes place in 2138 when virtual reality games are booming.

The world is constantly changing, with non-player characters (NPCs) starting to feel emotions. Having no parents, friends, or place in society, this Momonga then seeks to take over the new world of the game.
The first season, which totaled 13 episodes, was also made into a recap of two anime films titled The Undead Kings And The Dark Heroes.

- Release: Winter 2018
The second season of Overlord. Continuing his quest to control this new world, Ains placed various followers for each of his conquests.
Between dealing with the rebellion of Lizard Man’s tribe and carrying out missions as an Adamantine adventurer under the identity of Lord Momon, Ains has her job cut out for her.
Thankfully he has the most loyal and willing followers to do his bidding. Nothing can stop the supreme and mighty Overlord in his quest to rule over all.
3. Overlord III

Third-season Overlord. With its foundations now set in this new world, the first steps of Ains Ooal Gown’s master plan are coming to fruition.
Advancing Carne Village and especially the position of his alter ego, Momon was reaffirmed.
The hidden genius of his actions was constantly met with shock and admiration by Demiurge, Albedo, the other guardians, and even Ains himself.
His attempts to act in a manner befitting the ruler of Nazarick, steadily strengthening the loyalty of his retainers, pushed him further and further down the path of world domination.
Without a human conscience due to being an Undead, Ains’ only motivation was to continue searching for other players from Yggdrasil and to gain the power to protect his people.
Lord Ains Ooal Gown retained the mantle of Overlord and led the Great Tomb of Nazarick onto the world stage, right into the cruel power struggle between the two great empires.
