Select PS5 owners have reported receiving exclusive invitations from Sony to test the latest firmware update before its full rollout. This beta version isn’t available to all users yet, as it requires a unique code from Sony, which can also be shared with up to four friends.

While this update doesn’t introduce any groundbreaking features, it does bring several quality-of-life improvements:
Improved Activity Details
- Activity details are now fully displayed on cards.
- Potential spoilers will still be hidden.
Unicode 16.0 Emojis Support
- New emojis can now be used in messages.
Parental Controls Update
- When set to Late Teens or Older, Communication and User-Generated Content will default to Restrict (previous settings remain unchanged).
System Stability & Performance Enhancements
- Improved overall system software performance and stability.
- Enhanced messages and usability on certain screens.
A Minor Update with Stability Enhancements
Based on the patch notes, this firmware update is relatively minor, focusing on UI tweaks, stability improvements, and expanded emoji support rather than adding major new features.
As with all beta updates, testers should know that some features might not work correctly, and final changes could be made before the full release.
