Thanks to Dark Side of Gaming’s John Papadopoulos for highlighting the details in his recent breakdown of the new patch!
After its much-anticipated PC launch earlier this month, The Last of Us Part II Remastered has been facing the usual teething issues we’ve come to expect with Sony ports. Fortunately, the developers at Nixxes Software have started addressing those problems with a fresh patch that landed over the weekend.
Patch 1.1 includes a couple of notable fixes, including:
- Performance tweaks aimed at reducing the long loading stalls in Downtown Seattle
- A fix for a crash tied to Steam Input
While the Steam Input issue seems to be completely resolved, the performance side of things is still a work in progress. As Papadopoulos points out, while Downtown Seattle has improved, Jackson City—another demanding area—still suffers from noticeable performance issues.
“Update 1.1 has performance improvements to address long stalls that could occur in Downtown Seattle. However, it does not improve performance in Jackson City,” Papadopoulos explained.
“I’ve tested it on an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D with an NVIDIA RTX 5090, and saw no noticeable changes there.”
It seems like Nixxes is holding off on more in-depth fixes for Jackson City and other areas for a future update—likely due to the complexity of the issue and time constraints.
If you’re playing on PC and still experiencing problems, hang tight. It looks like more patches are on the way, and with any luck, upcoming updates will bring the port closer in line with the polished experience players have had on the PS5.
