The fourth season of The Boys concluded with a failed assassination, a newly established order, and, as expected, numerous bloody and violent deaths. The eighth episode, which was renamed after the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, has set the stage for a critical fifth and final season, surprisingly omitting some essential elements.
Contain Spoilers
In its 68-minute runtime, the season finale lived up to expectations and was as explosive as anticipated from the Prime Video hit. More than one character met their end, with some significant names brutally murdered. Here are all the deaths from the season 4 finale of The Boys.
Secret Service Agents
Upon discovering the assassination attempt orchestrated by Homelander, who hired a shapeshifter to kill the president, the Secret Service and some members of The Boys take President-elect Robert Singer to a bunker for protection.
Having posed as Starlight for days, the shapeshifter infiltrates the bunker and tries to kill Singer but fails to get close enough to him. However, in the attempt, the shapeshifter ends up killing numerous members of the Secret Service.
The Shape-shifting Shooter
In the final moments of the bunker battle, the real Starlight arrives and, after a fierce exchange of blows and words, manages to break the neck of the shapeshifter pretending to be her. This unique version of Mystique from the X-Men appears dead, but given the show’s history, there could still be a surprise in store.
Victoria Neuman
While the death of a character like Mallory, who has been present since the first season, is significant, the key event in the season finale is the execution of Victoria Neuman, the vice president-elect.
Victoria Neuman, played by Claudia Doumit, has the terrifying ability to make heads explode from a distance and has become one of the series’ most crucial characters. With the political plot intensifying, her role had grown even more significant. However, things take a deadly turn when she decides to meet with The Boys to try to stop Homelander. Despite Hughie, Mother’s Milk, Starlight, and the others reaching an agreement with her, Billy Butcher’s arrival shatters this fragile alliance in the most brutal way possible.
Having injected himself with permanent Compound V to gain new powers, Butcher unleashes a tentacled monstrosity reminiscent of Venom from within himself. He kills several Secret Service agents accompanying Neuman, neutralizes her daughter and the rest of The Boys, and then savagely tears Neuman in half. To make matters worse, a video surfaces showing Robert Singer ordering the assassination, leading to the president-elect’s arrest and subsequent charges for the crimes.
Grace Mallory
The former ally of Butcher and his team, Mallory, meets her end in a shocking manner. While trying to convince Butcher that Ryan, Homelander’s biological son, is the only one who can stop Homelander, Mallory brings the young man to him. Ryan, frustrated by being used as a weapon, rejects their pleas.
Mallory then reveals the harsh truth: Homelander is a ruthless killer who has murdered countless innocent people and is the result of his mother being raped by the leader of the Seven. Overcome with emotion, Ryan tries to leave, but when he discovers they’re in a metahuman-proof bunker, he pushes Mallory. The push is too forceful, sending her crashing into the wall and killing her instantly.
With Ryan’s increasingly indifferent demeanor echoing his father’s, he leaves the scene, leaving Butcher with few options left.
Many Vought Employees
With Homelander seemingly in control of both Vought International and the government—thanks to the new president being a mere puppet—he instructs his revamped team to hunt down anyone who opposes his new order and the enemies of the new America he’s created. This includes all Vought employees who might know about any of the Seven’s misdeeds or dirty secrets.
As a result, at the end of the episode, Deep, Gunpowder, and the new Black Noir are seen ruthlessly killing numerous Vought employees who are desperately trying to escape through the corridors of the Vought Tower.
