According to HIDIVE, the anime series follows the story of Cid, who doesn’t aspire to be a conspicuous hero or a notorious villain. Transported to another world with magical powers and a vivid imagination, he establishes Shadow Garden—an underground organization fighting an imaginary evil cult he created.
However, unbeknownst to Cid, the recruits of Shadow Garden take his every fabrication seriously. To complicate matters further, the “fake” cult he invented turns out to be real, and they are not pleased that his power fantasy has interfered with their plans for ultimate power in “The Eminence in Shadow.”
