The Last of Us won’t be back on HBO Max until 2025, but Season 2 has been in production since February. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey will return as Joel and Ellie, and there will be some new additions to the cast, including Isabela Merced.
A Twitter account shared an image of Isabela Merced as Dina, wearing the same shirt as the character in the video game. In The Last of Us Part II, Dina is Ellie’s love interest and plays a crucial role.

In the series, Dina is described as “a free spirit whose devotion to Ellie will be tested by the brutality of the world they inhabit.” The series’s co-creators, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, said they are proud to have Isabela Merced join the cast.
The Twitter profile also shared a photo of Bella Ramsey as Ellie. While she’s not exactly like the character in the game, she sports a similar hairstyle.
Apart from Merced, Season 2 will feature Young Mazino as Jesse, Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Danny Ramirez as Manny, Ariela Barer as Mel, and Tati Gabrielle as Nora.
It’s unclear at what point these new images are set in the video game timeline, but fans have some theories. They could be from the game’s early moments when Dina and Ellie are in Jackson, Wyoming, or they could be after they leave for Seattle.
