The synopsis for the new season reads: “Season 2 picks up where The Walking Dead left off: Daryl Dixon follows fan-favorite characters Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier. Both face old demons as Carol struggles to find her friend, and Daryl grapples with his decision to stay in France, causing tension in the Nest. Additionally, Genet’s (Anne Charrier) movement gains momentum, putting Pouvoir on a violent collision course with the Union of Hope in the fight for the future of France.”
The cast for the new season includes Clémence Poésy, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, Laika Blanc Francard, Romain Levi, and Eriq Ebouaney. David Zabel continues as showrunner. Like the first season, the second season will consist of six episodes.
David Zabel told Entertainment Weekly, “There’s an interesting moral problem for Daryl because he’s been trying to return to the people he loves, like Judith, Carol, and Connie. While he’s trying to do it, without realizing it (almost against his intentions), he has created this sense of family and home in France. And that is a beautiful dilemma. Very difficult, but something beautiful and speaks of the type of person Daryl is.”
The Walking Dead universe continues to expand. Besides the spin-off featuring Daryl and Carol, “The Walking Dead: Dead City,” starring Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Maggie and Negan, will also return for a second season following the positive reception of its first season.
