That Girlfriend, Girlfriend season 2 finale was crazy! Shino telling Naoya she wants to get in on his whole polyamory girlfriend situation has me freaking out, wondering what happens next!! I must give it to my man Naoya: juggling multiple girlfriends with his big brain!
But, like…is there even going to BE a season 3? I haven’t heard anything official yet. That would crush me not to get more of this wild rom-com anime – it’s just too popular not to keep going!
I gotta believe we’ll get more Girlfriend, Girlfriend announced soon. Especially with that spicy cliffhanger setting up major drama! Not knowing who Naoya would choose to add to his girlfriend squad is just too tantalizing. An anime this fire can’t just leave everybody hanging!
Plus, there are still plenty more crazy girlfriend antics to cover from the manga. There was no way they concluded everything neatly. They MUST have a plan cooking for season 3 already! I’ll be refreshing updates daily.

Even though we haven’t heard any official word yet, I must believe Girlfriend, Girlfriend Season 3 has a high chance of happening! There’s still enough manga left unfinished for one more season, and with the popularity of anime shows, folks are hungry for more of this wacky rom-com.
The latest season adapted to chapter 91, leaving over 50 chapters that wrap up the story. There’s plenty of material left for around 12 more fun episodes! The studio could expand on some parts or add original non-manga content if they need to pad it out. So, source material isn’t an issue for Season 3.
Now for popularity – you’d think Season 1 didn’t make huge waves at first. But it was renewed to bring in a new studio for the recent season. And that ended up being a hit! Based on my reactions, there is way more buzz and ratings than in the first season, especially with Shino’s big moment setting up the cliffhanger.
Considering a fan-fave got spotlighted right as the story needs resolving? That’s gotta guarantee interest in another season! I’d bet my next paycheck that the team behind the anime sees the demand is there for giving Girlfriend, Girlfriend a Season 3.
Of course, the new studio is juggling other shows in 2024 before they can even start producing more Girlfriend. My guess? We might realistically wait until late 2025 for it to finally air if they commit to a third round of Naoya’s wild ride.
But no matter how long I gotta wait, I know in my heart the anime staff won’t leave us hanging on that spicy Season 2 tease! We NEED a payoff of whether Shino, Mirika or maybe even someone else joins Naoya’s girlfriend squad! Make it happen, producers!!
