In 2006, Zack Snyder directed “300,” a violent movie based on the comic book by Frank Miller. Now, after a late sequel in 2014, Warner Bros. wants to bring back the epic story with a TV series. Snyder will be the producer and might also direct it.

Last March, Snyder told The Joe Rogan Experience podcast that he wanted to expand the 300 franchise with a series. He’s also working on a big science fiction project called “Rebel Moon” for Netflix. During the podcast, he shared some details about his plans for the 300 series.

They talked about the famous movie that made Gerald Buttler and Rodrigo Santoro stars as Leonidas and Xerxes. The host asked Snyder if he ever thought about adding “a lot of gay stuff” to the story. Snyder said he just followed what Frank Miller wrote in the original book. He also mentioned that he and Miller have been discussing making a series because he thinks it’s an important story to tell.

According to Variety, the 300 series is still in the early stages of development. Not much is known about the plot yet, but it seems like it will be a prequel to the first movie.

Warner Bros. is talking with Snyder about leading this big project. The 300 movie was Snyder’s first major success, making over $450 million worldwide. The 2014 sequel, called “300: Rise of an Empire,” did not do as well but still made $337 million globally. Snyder co-wrote the sequel, which was also based on Miller’s work. It was directed by Noam Murro and focused on the Greek general Themistocles (played by Sullivan Stapleton) as he led a fleet to fight the Persians after Xerxes, the self-proclaimed God King, declared war on Greece.
